From Oct. 19th to Oct. 22nd, 2025, the GRC team attended the annual 2025 CGU meeting in Chengdu. PhD students from the GRC, Yiqing Liu and Zhihao Wang, participated in the conference and presented their recent research.
Yiqing Liu shared her work on the 2024-2025 Hyuga-nada earthquakes. In this work, she inverted the coseismic slip of these two earthquakes based on the GPS observations. This work also reported the afterslip distribution and Coulomb stress change after the earthquake.
Zhihao Wang shared her work on the 2015 Mw8.3 Illapel earthquake. In this work, she used four-years postseismic deformation following this earthquake to constrain the rheology structure in the central Chile subduction zone. This work also reported the correlation between afterslip and aftershocks.
