After the AOGS in Singapore, here came a greater International Conference for geophysics in 2023. From Dec. 11th to Dec. 15th, three Ph.D. students, Siyuan Yang, Kai Wang, and Yiqing Liu went to San Francisco to attend the AGU23 (Fall meeting of American Geophysical Union in 2023). We shared recent research on modeling different earthquakes. Yiqing gave an oral presentation and two other students presented posters. In this year AGU attracted over 22000 scientists and students all over the world. Former and present GRCers gathered together for an enjoyable “group dinner”. The conference is over, but we believe that its impact is continuing, which may have positive influence to the conferees…

Yiqing Liu presented her work on constraining the rheological structure in southwest Japan.

Kai Wang discussed with other scholars about his work on the 2016 Kaikoura earthquake.

Siyuan Yang presented her work on 2004 & 2005 Sumatra earthquake.

Siyuan Yang introduced her work to pre-GRCer Kang Liang.
